The “SUNSHINE FOR LIFE” project aims to realize an efficient and a wide range intervention to fight the consumption of drugs and improve the value of life. The main goal of the project is to reinforce the knowledge and the competences for the implementation of the minimum quality standards in the reduction of drug consumption, through a strategic approach that sustain and integrates the local, regional, national and European policies, gives a complete framework for coordinated and conjunct actions aimed to align local and regional strategies to the EU orientation. To this end, it becomes essential to strengthen and improve the collection and analysis of data relating to drug intake and the knowledge of new drugs placed on the market, through the creation of an Observatory, for the creation of a intervention model to combat drug use. The project intends to act above all on the side of reducing drug use through preventive interventions, in order to ensure in particular for young people and vulnerable social groups and their families, healthy, safe and drug-free environments. Only through preventive interventions can long-term sustainable results, effective and more efficient than compensatory interventions, be achieved.
